Introducing the“Fund for Transparency, Diversity, and Accountability” Sponsored by Citizens for a Pro-Business Delaware

We recently launched a $100,000 fund to incubate and support community-based groups fighting for transparency, diversity, and accountability in Delaware’s courts and government. The fund will deploy resources and expertise to support activists and groups that are on the ground fighting for racial and economic equity in the state, where the median household income for Black and Latino households is half that of white households, and people of color are systematically denied access to high-paying jobs and equitable educational opportunities. In addition to funding, CPBD will provide high-level administrative and strategic support to grant winners to amplify their grassroots and media efforts and ensure their message is being heard.

If you or your organization is interested in applying for a grant, please fill out and submit this form. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through the end of the year.

Justice for Prisoners activists protest inhumane conditions in Delaware’s prisons

“We are so grateful for this grant from CPBD, which will enable us to continue building out our capacities as a premier advocacy groups for the most vulnerable members of our society: incarcerated individuals. Thanks to CPBD’s generosity, we will be able to put even more pressure on Governor Carney and the Delaware establishment to treat our loved ones as human beings with dignity.”

- Heather Morris, Executive Director at Justice for Prisoners

For too long, we’ve seen Delaware’s ruling class of elite lawyers, politicians, judges, and executives callously ignore the voices and needs of working-class and minority Delawareans. This fund is a small step towards restoring balance in Delaware; we’re putting money in the hands of those who have the most at stake in the future of the First State.
